RIGHTS OF VARIOUS CLASSES OF MEMBERS
The playing rights of Members in the various categories of membership are:
Life Members are entitled to use of the golf course and clubhouse facilities identical with 7 Day Members.
Gold Members are entitled to the benefits of the class of membership from which they transferred to Gold membership.
7 Day Members
7 Day Members are entitled to access to the golf course, practice and clubhouse facilities 7 days a week, within the permitted times as may be determined by the Board and published in the Annual Program Book and/or on Club Notice Boards.
6 Day Members
6 Day members are entitled to access to the golf course and practice facilities on all days other than Saturdays within the permitted playing times, except in circumstances especially authorised by the Board. The use of the clubhouse facilities is identical to that of 7 Day Members.
5 Day Members
5 Day Members are entitled to play golf within the permitted playing times on the course and use of the practice facilities on all days other than weekends, but including Public Holidays The use of the clubhouse facilities is identical to that of 7 Day Members.
Special Members are entitled to use of the golf course and clubhouse facilities identical with the 7 Day, 6 Day or 5 Day Members above as appropriate.
Junior and Cadet Members are entitled to golfing privileges as agreed by the Board and published in the Annual Program Book and/or on Club Notice Boards. The Board may, at its discretion, allocate specific times of play for Junior/Cadet Members.
Junior/Cadet Members are permitted to use only those licensed areas of the Club for which an authority under the Registered Clubs Act is in force, and shall not be served or consume alcohol in the Club, nor play Gaming Machines in the Club.
Country Members are entitled to a maximum of twenty (20) games, of which eight (8) may be competition, at any time during the Club’s financial year, and use of the clubhouse facilities, but are not eligible to play in the Club Championships.
House Members are entitled to use of the Clubhouse facilities and to entertain guests and visitors but are not be entitled to use of the golf course, except as a public green fee player observing rules and conditions as are set for the public, and only during such hours that public are permitted use of the course. A House Member who is a playing member of any affiliated golf club may play on the course on the invitation of a member, subject to such restrictions as may from time to time be imposed by the Board.
Student Members are entitled to use of the golf course and clubhouse facilities identical with those of their day class of Membership.
Corporate Nominee Members
Corporate Nominee Members are entitled to use of the golf course and clubhouse facilities consistent with the agreement between the Club and the Corporation which nominated the Corporate Nominee Member.
Provisional Members are only entitled to the use of clubhouse facilities as determined from time to time by the Board.
SPECIAL MEMBERSHIP RECOGNITION
The Board of Long Reef Golf Club recognizes the significant contribution that long term members have made to the success of the club and have developed initiatives to formally acknowledge and reward members for their loyalty and commitment.
Gold Special Membership
Gold Members must be over the age of seventy (70) years and have achieved 50 years of Ordinary Membership of the club and have been transferred to Gold Membership by the Board following application for transfer of Membership as permitted by Clause 22 of the Clubs Constitution.
7 Day Special Membership
Applicants must be over the age of 65 and have completed 25 years of playing membership, with the last five years continuous, in the following category: 7 Day Member.
6 Day Special Membership
Applicants must have completed 25 years of playing membership, with the last five years continuous, in one of the following categories: 7 Day Member or 6 Day Member.
5 Day Special Membership
Applicants must have completed 25 years of playing membership, with the last five years continuous, in one of the following categories: 7 Day Member, 6 Day Member or 5 Day Member.
OTHER MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENTS
Playing members of the Club aged 18 years or more, and Junior (including Cadet) Members may make written application to the Board for consideration of a transfer to Country Membership, House Membership or another class of membership.
Country Membership is available to persons who have attained the age of 21 years who reside outside a radius of 100 kilometres from the Sydney GPO for a period of not less than nine calendar months in each calendar year and who are elected or transferred to membership in this Class.
Please note that only Members in a current playing class of membership of the Club may apply for Country Membership.
